Cabinet 3D Favorites in Modebar

Cabinet 3D favorites can now be chosen directly from the tool's modebar. Additionally, the Preferences... dialog now features a button to reset the current settings.

Create Plinth from selection

Joining Cabinet3D and Custom Part 3DPlinth 3D now features a mode to create plinth objects from basic Vectorworks geometries. Additionally, the mode also recognizes rows of cabinets, allowing the user to create one plinth under multiple cabinets.

Fittings / grids visualisation

For fittings (or drillings) placed on a grid, the position is updated automatically upon recreation of a cabinet (e.g. to reflect design changes or dimensional changes). If one of the fittings on the grid is moved, deleted or copied, the grid information is removed from all fittings placed on the grid in order to avoid that deleted or moved fittings re-appear upon regeneration of the Cabinet. This is reflected in the graphic presentation of the drillings in wireframe view: Fittings placed on a grid (and thus being managed by the cabinet) feature the pen color green, whereas other fittings are shown with a black pen color.

Performance

  • Opening large documents with multiple cabinets and fittings should be more than 6 times faster
  • Switching the tool Drawer 3D from system to wooden drawer mode should be much faster now

  • After placement of fittings, fittings geometry is split into two components, a black symbol containing the geometry and the technical / sales data (shared between all instances of the fitting in the drawing) and a blue symbol containing all routings (for each instance of the fitting). By sharing the potentially complex geometry across all instances of a given fitting, the burden on Vectorworks' graphics pipeline is reduced. At the same time, file size will decrease substantially. Existing fittings in documents before interiorcad 2017 F4 are not updated automatically

  • Regeneration of wooden drawer is slightly faster in interiorcad 2017 F4
  • Memory requirements of inserting system drawers in larger documents have been decreased substantially

  • Performance of deleting the fittings / grid drillings of a Cabinet has been improved substantially
  • Undoing the deletion of cabinet fittings is much faster now
  • Opening a cabinet's Settings... dialog is much faster now in larger documents

Other improvements

  • Textures mapping on drawers & doors has been improved
  • Materials and custom fittings are now migrated properly to VW 2017 when using the built-in Vectorworks Migration Assistent
  • Objects representing cabinet favorites can no longer be edited via the object info palette to reduce confusion

Minor bugfixes

  • Copy/Pasting custom parts with NC Macros pastes NC Macro's record formats too
  • Cabinet front design - Shelfs and partitions which are turned off can still be selected and re-configured again
  • Grid drillings were placed along the wrong axis if the cabinet's width was greater than it's height
  • Plinth's Settings... now shows corrected values for mirrored plinths
  • Plinth stretchers had the wrong length for laid-on plinth front boards

VectorWOP

  • Custom Parts - Export paths with edges turned off correctly, even if path is not clockwise
  • Mirrored NC Macros are now output correctly
  • Horizontal drillings on rectangular workpieces are drilled from the main side if possible
  • Various improvements for Xilog derived from custom starters created for customer
  • Various improvements for WoodFlash derived from custom starters created for customers
  • NC-HOPS - Approach für circular pockets improved
  • Better handling of the log file, especially if it is always created at the same place
  • Cuttinglist export in CSV formats suppresses line feeds in data
